Our cocktail for the evening: Bejeweled Julep

Ingredients:

-2 oz bourbon

-0.5 oz simple syrup

-8-10 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish

-2 oz sparkling wine

-Crushed ice

Instructions:

-In a julep cup or rocks glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup.

-Fill the glass with crushed ice.

-Pour the bourbon over the ice.

-Stir gently until the outside of the glass frosts.

-Top with sparkling wine and more crushed ice if needed.

-Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

 

Non-Alcoholic Version

Ingredients:

-2 oz ginger ale or non-alcoholic bourbon alternative

-0.5 oz mint simple syrup

-8-10 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish

-Crushed ice

Instructions:

-In a julep cup or tall glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with the mint simple syrup.

-Fill the glass with crushed ice.

-Pour the ginger ale or non-alcoholic bourbon alternative over the ice.

-Stir gently until well combined.

-Top with more crushed ice if needed.

-Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
